CHAIR'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the 4th annual Neurology Update Symposium. On behalf of the Department of Neurology at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, I
would like to invite you to our annual Neurology Update Symposium and hope that you find it valuable in the care of your neurological patients.
Join us on Saturday, November 9, 2019, 7 am to 5 pm at the Magnolia Hotel, 1100 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77002. We are providing a full day CME/ CNE accredited program for neurologists, internists, family practitioners, nurse practitioners, nurses and other allied healthcare providers who diagnose, manage and treat people with neurological diseases and disorders.
The Neurology Update Symposium provides an evidence-based review on recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of common neurological disorders. The program covers latest guidelines, clinical strategies and recent advances, including new
approaches for diagnosis and expanded options for treatment.
This year's topics include acute stroke therapy: the first 24 hours, stroke in the outpatient setting, treatment updates in multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases, phenomenology in movement disorders, community centric deep brain stimulation programs, treatment of neuromuscular disorders, neuro-oncology for the community neurologist, neuro-ethics and more.
Please take this opportunity to meet and interact with our Neurology Faculty. I hope you can join us for the upcoming 4th Annual Neurology Update Symposium in Houston!
